What is Matcha?
Matcha is a powdered green tea made by stone grinding the carefully selected nutrient-packed, shade grown green tea leaves. It is abundant in amino acids, antioxidants, and a slow-release form of caffeine.

Matcha has ~50x the antioxidants per gram of spinach!
Matcha is not just a beautiful burst of green. It contains a class of antioxidants known as catechins. And it’s particularly high in epigallocatechin gallate or EGCG more than other green teas which helps one feel energised all day and also aids in weight loss.

🧊 How to Make the Perfect Iced Matcha Latte
Ingredients:
- ½ tsp (1g) Heapwell Ceremonial Grade Matcha
- 60 ml warm water (around 80°C – not boiling)
- 200 ml cold milk (dairy or plant-based like almond or oat)
- 1–2 tsp maple syrup or honey (optional)
- Ice cubes
Instructions:
- Sift the matcha into a cup or shaker to avoid lumps.
- Add 60 ml warm water. Use a bamboo whisk or electric frother to whisk until fully dissolved and frothy.
- Add ice cubes to a glass.
- Pour in 200 ml cold milk.
- Add sweetener, if using.
- Top with the prepared matcha shot.
Stir or shake lightly, garnish with a mint sprig or matcha dusting.

🍵 Matcha Latte
- ½ tsp (1g) Heapwell Ceremonial Matcha
- 60ml hot water
- 150ml warm milk or almond milk
- 1 tsp honey or maple syrup
Whisk matcha with water, add warmed milk and sweetener.
Froth, sip, and smile. -
🍦 Minty Matcha Nice Cream
- 400 ml coconut milk - solid part only (use regular heavy cream for non vegan version)
- 2 frozen bananas
- 5 tbsp maple syrup
- 2 tsp Heapwell Ceremonial Matcha
- Handful of mint leaves
Blend all ingredients until smooth. Freeze for 3+ hours. Garnish with mint. Keeps for 6 months in the freezer. -
3. 💚 Matcha Energy Balls (Makes 8–10)
- 5–6 prunes
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- ½ tsp sea salt
- 150g ground almonds
- 2 tbsp sunflower seeds
- 3 tbsp pumpkin seeds
- 3 tbsp linseeds
- 100g pistachios (plus extra for
coating) - 100g desiccated coconut (plus
extra for coating) - 1 tsp Heapwell Ceremonial Matcha
Blend, roll, coat, and chill. Perfect for pre/post-workout
snacking.
